What you will be doing

 

As a Trainee Laboratory Technical Assistant with NSW Department of Primary Industries, you will provide technical support in the chemical analysis of laboratory customer samples while studying Certificate III in Laboratory Skills MSL30118 part-time at TAFE NSW.

 

About the Role

 

In this role you will be required to:

  • Provide technical support in the preparation and analysis of samples including the accurate collation and reporting of results under the direction of senior technical staff
  • Assist with sample receipt, registration and correct storage of received samples
  • Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems
  • Work as part of a team to support the research work and other projects of the Department

 

To be successful in this role you will have great organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure that accurate results are generated and maintained for sample analysis, equipment maintenance and calibration in accordance with quality assurance requirements. You will also be looking to start an interesting and rewarding career as a laboratory technician while being paid to study!
