Who is the
Department of Regional NSW? Why work for us?
Our Department is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disability. We support an inclusive workplace where staff have access to opportunities and resources at all levels, enabling our team members to drive innovation, productivity and delivery of high-quality services. We provide dignified access to reasonable adjustments both during the recruitment process and in the workplace. If you require reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process, please call or text the contact for this role.

Northern Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) is seeking an experienced strategic planner to lead a diverse and skilled team in the development, implementation, and delivery of strategic services across the region.

About the Role:
Leading a fully supportive team who are willing to share their knowledge and humour to help each other succeed, the primary purpose of the role is to support strategic planning functions, including LLS strategic planning commitments across various business functions and ensuring strong integration into operational delivery vehicles and other operational functions.

An additional focus is the ability to guide and support Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and statutory Land Management operational functions. While expertise in these functions is desirable, experience in program delivery management and an eye to detail are essential to supporting these well-established programs.

This is not a back-room strategy role as it depends on effective communication with staff, the NT LLS Leadership Team, the community, and other stakeholders for consultation and liaison, and as such, we’re looking for a proven people leader with excellent communications skills.

About You:
Experience in program reporting and compliance will be essential given the strategic services focus of this role, as is an understanding of project management processes.

You’ll also need to have an understanding of the reporting and project management requirements for the National Landcare Program and experience in designing and facilitating workshops and processes to review and develop core service plans, such as our Investment Plan.

You’ll be enthusiastic and committed to learn, be motivated, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and have excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Above all – you’ll have the ability to not only understand the ‘big picture’ but also identify the steps required to achieve it.

For more information on the role, you can download the role description.

How to apply:
If this role sounds ideal to you, please apply via our online portal by submitting your resume and a brief cover letter outlining how your skills and experience match what we are looking for. We will then get back in touch after the closing date.

Applications through email will not be accepted.

Closing Date: Wednesday 26th May 2021 @ 11:55pm
