 About The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven new team member to collaborate and contribute to various programs and projects throughout Regional NSW. 

Reporting directly to the Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund (SHLF) Strategy and Funding Manager, the Strategy and Funding Senior Advisor supports the Regional Precincts Group (PRG) in the management and coordination of funding and finance processes, reporting and compliance that meets the varied needs of the group and specific business units. This role has a ranged scope and will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate input into the financial planning, budget and financial forecasting processes provided to the Department and Treasury
  • Build the financial capability of staff within the Group to support the effective management of the budget
  • Coordinate the development and analysis of financial models to inform executive decision making
  • Prepare detailed and timely correspondence, briefings and reports to support the effective operation of the Group
  • Provide appropriately balanced, accurate and timely advice, guidance and reporting on the conduct of the funding programs to meet the needs of departmental, governmental, and public audiences.

About You

You will be a highly motivated professional with qualifications in accounting highly considered, or relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, business or commerce fields, and/or equivalent experience. You will have detailed knowledge of the machinery of Government, including Cabinet and legislative processes and the ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of legislation and expertise in policy development, implementation and review.

You will be an excellent communicator, customer focused, and have the ability to manage competing priorities and interests while maintaining a professional demeanour and ‘can do’ attitude. You will be kind and supportive of the wider team, adaptable and ready for change.

Department is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

The Regional Precincts Group is responsible for future proofing rural and regional NSW by designing and delivering Special Activation Precincts, delivering solutions to improve digital connectivity and mobile coverage, and driving investment attraction into our regions to create jobs and drive economic outcomes.
