About our team

The Regional Recovery Branch ensures sector excellence and leadership in the design and delivery of programs to support social, economic and primary industry outcomes for regional NSW, and enabling people, businesses and communities to recover from disasters including flood, bushfire, COVID-19 and drought.

We play a crucial leadership and community-facing role that supports improved outcomes in economic development and community wellbeing for regional NSW. Our programs and staff are focused on growing regional economies, communities and youth and improving quality of life for regional communities.

The Industry Recovery team leads the design, collaboration and delivery of large, medium to long term primary industry recovery and resilience programs and communicates outcomes to its stakeholders.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Officer, you will be instrumental in the coordination and development of complex projects to achieve outcomes and support established organisational objectives in support to primary producers and supply chain industries impacted by disasters across NSW.

Working as a Senior Project Officer, your day will consist of but not be limited to:

• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication and regular collaboration to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Support the team, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key milestones and outcomes. Ensuring the Branch is meeting its obligations under the NSW Grant Administration Guide
• Conduct research and analysis to provide informed recommendations supporting project planning and decision making.
• Contribute to correspondence, briefing notes and reports in relation to specific projects, initiatives and issues
• Write and develop policy and guideline documents. Assist in mentoring more junior staff to contribute to the development of these documents.

About You

You have a keen interest and extensive knowledge of primary issues affecting rural and regional NSW communities including the impacts and factors of disasters on these communities. You welcome the challenge of managing a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiating through differing expectations, viewpoints and interests to achieve outcomes. You will be able to hit the ground running in this role through the utilisation of your already established relationships with industry contacts and networks.

You will have extensive experience in project management including the ability to manage multiple projects often with competing timeframes, set priorities, meet deadlines and work as part of a team. You have advanced networking skills and understand the importance of building and maintaining collaborative relationships to successfully reach project outcomes.

You will have extensive experience in formulating and completing analysis providing adequate information and driving effective evidence-based policy design.

Essential requirements

Current Drivers Licence and willingness to travel.
