About the Role

The Senior Project Officer manages and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives.

 

The Regional Digital Connectivity (RDC) team provides strategic advice to Ministers and the Department’s executive; developing evidence-based business cases, feasibility studies, and other economic reports to support investment decisions by government. You will be a key member of the team designing and delivering infrastructure programs; being a subject matter expert on infrastructure funding governance and administration; and supporting other regional economic development initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities for the Senior Project Officer role include, but not limited to:

  • Manage, develop and oversee a suite of programs and projects
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication
  • Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation
  • Manage a project team/s, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to achieving team outcomes
  • Manage contracts and monitor provision of service to ensure compliance with contract and service arrangements

 

This role will be responsible for achieving project deadlines and milestones to the required standards and within budget, given the need to simultaneously coordinate and deliver multiple projects which are often complex and interconnected.

 

This role will report to one of the Regional Digital Connectivity (RDC) Program Managers.

 

About You

You will play a key role in our team supporting the establishment and delivery major infrastructure projects including the development of business cases, supporting tendering activities, maintaining key project controls including project plans, budgets and risk registers, liaising with stakeholders, reporting and responding to communications.

 

You will need to be able to relate to a wide range of stakeholders and foster relationships across other NSW Government agencies, industry partners and community organisations.

 

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • An understanding of delivery & commissioning of community facing technical infrastructure business cases and policies
  • Experience in early phase project/program delivery, including business case development and government procurement processes
  • Experience in the delivery of complex government and commercial partnership projects in regional areas
  • Experience in researching, preparing and delivering briefings (verbal and written) to internal and external stakeholders
