About the role

The NSW Public Works (PW) branch within the Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW) is looking for a Senior Project Manager who will manage the delivery of infrastructure programs/projects ranging in size and complexity.

As a senior member of the South Coast Region team, you will:

• Manage end to end projects from inception, scoping, design, construction and through to post completion
• Provide leadership to the team and mentor junior staff
• Be responsive and proactive in your dealings with clients and confidently communicate with stakeholders
• Be competent at managing budgets and deliver timelines effectively
• Work with a range of stakeholders to maximise public value in infrastructure planning, program delivery and asset operation
• Provide specialist construction and project management advice to internal and external clients and stakeholders

The type of projects you will be working on:

• Sewage treatment plants
• Water treatment plants
• Delivery of civil infrastructure – Jetties, Bridges and Slope Stabilisation to name a few

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• Extensive experience in project/program management engineering, building or construction
• Expertise in the planning, evaluation and delivery of complex infrastructure projects
• Well-developed knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations
• Procurement knowledge and expertise
• Strong leadership skills and proven ability to foster business relationships

Essential for success:  

• Degree qualification/s in Project Management, Engineering, Building or Construction and/or related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays
• Employment screening checks, security or other clearances and health assessments
