Where will you work? This role is located in our Northern Tablelands Local Land Services region. The Northern Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) region is bounded by Tenterfield in the north and Walcha in the south. The region extends between Warialda and Delungra in the west and reaches to the escarpment of the Great Dividing Range in the east.

The Northern Tablelands region is a distinctive highland area of New South Wales with undulating hills, valleys, plateaus and mountains straddling the top of the Great Dividing Range. With an average elevation exceeding 1000 metres above sea level, the Northern Tablelands has a temperate climate with mild summers and cold winters with frosty mornings and occasional snowfalls.

About the role;
As our Senior Land Services Officer Agronomy, you will be responsible for effectively engaging with customers and stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on agricultural production issues within the Northern Tablelands LLS region. This role assists in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational plans that relate to agricultural production and land management production.

Other key duties include:

  • Fostering relationships with regional customers, stakeholders and investors to inform agricultural production projects and support implementation of and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Partnering with industry, producer groups and other organisations to provide access to information, and services, to address customer and stakeholder knowledge gaps.
  • Maintain a working understanding of the regulatory responsibilities of primary producers

What you need to do this role;

  • A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance
