About Us

The Department of Regional NSW was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues.  The Department is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

The Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation (RGDC) is established under the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974 to lead the delivery and implementation of the Government’s Special Activation Precincts program and work extensively with Department of Regional NSW and various other agencies.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-focused and connected professional to join the Regional Growth Development Corporation (RGDC) to help drive investment outcomes and facilitate the business concierge for the Parkes Special Activation Precinct (SAP).

In the role of Senior Investment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding investors through their investment options within the SAP business concierge function. You will support the program’s objective to drive economic growth into regional NSW and deliver outcomes by coordinating, facilitating and managing relationships between investors, the Regional Growth Development Corporation, other NSW government agencies and partners.

You will work at a strategic level to develop and maintain investment relationships and implement specific and localised initiatives to support the outcomes of the Parkes SAP. Your role will be critical in providing timely information to investors, facilitating introductions and brokering outcomes, while ensuring a positive investment experience in regional NSW for investors.

Specific aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting investment attraction agencies and Council to facilitate and promote the SAP program, acting as a subject matter expert for the Parkes precinct.  
  • Acting as a relationship manager for investors where appropriate
  • Facilitating the business concierge process for investors, coordinating deliverables to investors across the RGDC and other government agencies
  • Supporting the SAP development decision making process on behalf of investors to ensure that investment can be delivered
  • Leading internal decision gateway processes
  • Supporting the development of investment collateral and providing SAP briefs to investment attraction agencies

About You

You will be a highly motivated Senior Officer with proven project and relationship management experience and the ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships professionally and confidently.  You will have a passion and in-depth understanding of the issues facing Regional NSW, as well as the markets and industries that will play a key role in the development of our regions and specifically the Special Activation Precincts.

You will be a proficient communicator and have the ability to manage competing priorities and interests while maintaining a professional demeanour and ‘can do’ attitude.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Proven experience establishing and sustaining relationships within the public, private and/or not-for-profit sectors with a history of delivering results in a complex environment.
  • Experience, knowledge, understanding and application of the NSW Planning Framework.
  • A detailed understanding of environmental, social and economic regional issues facing governments, agencies and communities.
  • Experience supporting business and property transactions within the public, private or not-for-profit sectors.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same standard that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months. The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.

All Department of Regional NSW employees are required:
