About Us

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally-based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and the Soil Conservation Service.

 

About the Role

We are currently looking for a motivated, energetic person to work as part of a team to carry out general maintenance duties on our travelling stock reserves. Your day might include climbing a windmill, repairing fences, monitoring and repairs to water point infrastructure, spraying weeds and general depot duties including plant maintenance.

 

Our ideal person will have previous experience in weed control and the use of chemicals, have the ability to operate plant and machinery and have basic computer skills. A requirement of this role is to hold a current drivers licence and be prepared to travel around the region and stay away overnight when required.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be willing to undertake regular travel within the North West LLS region;
  • Closely work with the supervisor to deliver on outcomes in line with program objectives and,
  • Be able to work alone independently in remote locations
  • Have a Current NSW Class C Driver and a willingness to travel;
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of vegetation identification skills is highly desirable

 

Not mandatory but some desirable experience that would be beneficial include:

 

  • Hold a HC truck licence or ability to obtain one
  • Firearms Licence or ability to hold one
  • Working at heights experience or comfortable working at heights
