NSW Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources.
DPI Hunting sits within the DPI Fisheries branch and is responsible for the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 and Game and Feral Animal Control Regulation 2012. DPI Hunting regulates hunting in NSW to ensure it is conducted safely and responsibly, to ensure hunting contributes positively to the NSW economy and community.
About the Role
This role will lead and manage a team of compliance officers in a combination of surveillance, compliance monitoring, enforcement, investigation, liaising with public and private land managers, and education and advisory activities to maximise voluntary compliance with hunting and other related legislation in NSW.
Key accountabilities of the Senior Compliance Officer, but not limited to:
This role will be balancing the competing demands for advisory activities, compliance investigations and provision of other Compliance, Operations and Intelligence Branch regulatory activities throughout the zone and State.
This role reports to the Program Leader Compliance, Operations and Intelligence Branch
About You
This is a role for someone who is proactive with attention to detail, problem solving skills and a can-do attitude. You will be someone who enjoys leading a small team, thrives in dynamic environments and has a strong understanding of hunting and compliance. Ideally you will have a Certificate IV (or higher) in Government Investigations.
You will need good communication skills as you work and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational outcomes that support Stronger Primary Industries.
