Senior Compliance Officer

• Ongoing (permanent) full-time role
• Location – Maitland NSW or other Regional NSW location by negotiation
• Competitive salary from $101,947 to $112,849 + super (Clerk Grade 7/8)

About the role

• Join the dynamic Enforcement Team in the Mining Act Inspectorate in the NSW Resources Regulator
• Help effectively regulate compliance with the Mining Act and associated Regulations
• Undertake a wide range of compliance-related activities including:
•  managing and administering regulatory sanctions under the Mining Act (suspension/cancellation of an authorisation, varying conditions of an authorisation and enforceable undertakings)
• compliance audits of mines and exploration licences
• fit and proper person investigations
• compliance inspections, and
• investigating breaches of the Mining Act

About you

To be successful in this role:

• You must hold and maintain a current Class C driver licence.
• Compliance with the Resources Regulator Integrity Clearance policy is mandatory, and a condition of engagement for staff engaged after 3 December 2019.
• Compliance with the Resources Regulator Pecuniary Interests in the Regulated Sector policy is mandatory.
• Appointment and ongoing assignment is subject to the satisfactory participation in ongoing health screening.
• Already hold or otherwise be willing to complete relevant auditor and investigations training as required by the Resources Regulator.
