About Us 

The Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW) was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues. The Department has responsibility for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

Within DRNSW, the Mining, Exploration and Geoscience (MEG) division sets strategic policy for the state’s mineral and energy resources, gathers, analyses and disseminates geoscientific information, and assesses and determines applications for mineral and petroleum titles for exploration activities and extractive uses. Through its Resources Regulator Branch the Group ensures the safe and sustainable functioning of the industry in NSW.

About the role

The Senior Assessment Analyst, Funds & Levies provides a range of business, administrative and transaction services to support the unit’s program of work and facilitate the delivery of business operations which includes the collection of revenue and administration funds.

Working as a Senior Assessment Analyst, Funds & Levies, you will:

• Maintain accurate and transparent reports on the status of security deposits.
• Lead process improvement on controls, compliance and governance in the administration of the Division’s security deposits.
• Coordinate with the Resources Regulator on reconciliation of security deposit assessments, dead title process, and breaches in security deposit conditions
• Knowledgeably address complex customer and stakeholder enquiries regarding security deposit conditions and requirements.
• Improve accuracy of financial system (SAP) against the Division's internal records through monthly reconciliation.

To be successful in this role:

As the successful applicant, you will have experience in the management of complex processes and systems within a high-volume environment, providing high quality, accurate and consistent outputs.

You understand the importance of maintaining current knowledge of relevant policies and corporate governance. You are passionate about building and maintaining excellent networks focused on regular collaboration.

Essential requirements:

• Tertiary Accounting qualification, member of a recognised accounting body or demonstrated experience in a similar position.
• Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.
