• Location negotiable throughout the Western LLS region – office locations include Tibooburra, Bourke, Brewarrina, Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Cobar, Hillston, Wentworth, Buronga & Balranald
• Salary starting from $ 101,947.00 pa + super

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services and private native forestry.

About the role 

Western Local Land Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Agricultural Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work in a dynamic and expanding industry in a role that is dedicated to improving goat meat production in Western NSW. You will work alongside scientists, service providers, goat producers and processors to build valuable networks and professional relationships.

Key aspects of the role include:

• working closely with seedstock and commercial goat producers to develop a community of practice
• facilitating the collection of data via on-farm measurement and implementing recommendations for practice change
• engaging with producer groups to deliver training and extension services
• seeking professional development in specialised goat extension areas supported by mentoring from key agencies

About You

Our ideal candidate will have fantastic communication and relationship building skills. You will also have sound knowledge of the agricultural industry and an interest in the goat industry to ensure the success of practice change, training and extension services. Other desired skills include:

• Knowledge of current agriculture best practices
• High quality project management and advisory skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively foster stakeholder and customer relationships
• Prioritisation and multitasking skills to effectively manage a high workload environment
• Current valid NSW Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel

The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.
