About the role:

The role of Regional Aboriginal Partnerships Manager - is to identify and deliver support services to, and in partnership with, Aboriginal communities that improve economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal people in the South East.

 

The team is based in Queanbeyan and there is an expectation that the person in the role will spend time in the office however flexible working arrangements are supported by the Department of Regional NSW and the successful applicant can negotiate to work from another location if it is in the South East Region.

 

Key Accountabilities, but not limited to:

  • Design solutions to improve services for Aboriginal people in regional NSW, with a particular focus on the South East
  • Participate in the delivery of project and policy development
  • Utilise NSW Government facilitation services for the development and implementation of regional strategies and initiatives
  • Prepare briefings, correspondences and advice to key political delegates
  • Managing internal and external consultations and negotiations with a wide range of stakeholders

 

This role reports to the Director or Deputy Director South East.

 

About You:

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to maintain the confidence and support of stakeholders through the delivery of critical projects across the cluster.

 

You thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment and are confident in exercising autonomy when responding to and resolving sensitive issues.

 

Strong knowledge of government agency functions is a must.

 

Essential requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the workings of Government, including Ministerial roles, agency functions and central agency responsibilities and capacity to achieve results in these contexts
  • Sound understanding of the environmental, social and economic regional issues facing governments, agencies and Aboriginal communities
  • A current driver’s licence
