Public Works Advisory are especially interested in applications from Defence Force Veterans for multiple temporary positions across surveying, engineering, construction management or GIS/spatial analysis who are interested in transitioning to a career in the construction industry.

  • Salaries range dependent on Grade of the position  
  • Opportunities for further development with funding support for formal training
  • Multiple temporary opportunities for 24 months (up to 35 hours per week)
  • Positions will be primarily located in the South Coast region including Wollongong, Goulburn, Moruya, Cooma and Queanbeyan.  Alternative project sites or regional offices may also be considered.

What are we looking for?

We are especially interested in seeking applications from Defence Force Veterans who are interested in embarking on a career with Public Works Advisory. We have multiple 24-month temporary opportunities available where the successful applicants will be provided the support and tools required to successfully transition from the Defence Force and to develop further skills needed to establish and develop your future careers in the construction industry. You will be provided with Senior Management support as you transition, and you will be offered training where required.

About the roles:

We currently have multiple temporary opportunities across various grades and skillsets including surveying, engineering, construction management or GIS/spatial analysis.

This is a fully funded program with Training Services NSW and successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain qualifications in aligned skillsets including Construction and Project Management.

Project Manager Grade 3/4Click here to view the full role description

Salary commencing from $74,117 + superannuation

Assists higher level Project Manager(s) with the planning and/or delivery of a range of assigned infrastructure project tasks or may manage small scale infrastructure projects with low to medium risk and complexity in order that time, cost, quality, safety, environmental targets and the region’s business objectives and client expectations are met.

Salary commencing from $87,493 + superannuation

Manage the delivery of one or more assigned infrastructure projects ranging in low to medium risk and complexity or contributes to the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects with medium to high in risk and complexity, to ensure time, cost, quality, safety and environment targets and corporate and region expectations and requirements are met.

Salary commencing from $99,431 + superannuation

Manage the delivery of one or more assigned infrastructure projects with medium risk and complexity or contributes to the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects with medium to high in risk and complexity, to ensure time, cost, quality, safety and environment targets and corporate and region expectations and requirements are met.

Salary commencing from $113,340 + superannuation

Leads the delivery of one or more assigned infrastructure projects ranging in medium to high in size and complexity or contributes to the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects with medium-to high complexity. As a team leader, the Project Manager directs other Project Managers on the delivery of programs of low to medium complexity and the application of best practice project management principles in order that time cost, quality, safety and environment targets and corporate and region expectations and requirements are met.

Under supervision, assist with undertaking a range of field surveys, data collection and surveying investigations to meet client needs in a timely and cost-effective way.

Salary commencing from $87,493 + superannuation

To undertake and coordinate a range of field surveys, including project planning, data collection, data processing, investigation of services and produce deliverable outputs to meet client needs in a timely and cost-effective way, under the guidance of senior staff members.

Salary commencing from $74,117 + superannuation

Prepare various GIS and CAD products relating to land survey, asset data and other government infrastructure projects to meet client deliverables. Undertake field data collection on a range of built assets for the purpose of maintaining current spatial information systems and asset databases as part of client project/s delivery.
