  • 3-year full time role
  • Ideally in the North Coast region however will consider alternative regional NSW locations
  • Competitive salary from $113,343pa plus super (plus flexible work hours)

About us

The Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation (NRRC) is a development corporation established following the 2022 floods across Lismore and Northern Rivers region of NSW. It formally came into effect from 1 July 2022. The NRRC manages the rebuilding of these communities by coordinating planning, rebuilding and construction work across multiple government agencies. The NRRC works in the following local government areas: Ballina; Byron, Clarence Valley; Lismore; Richmond Valley; Tweed, and Kyogle. More information can be found here. 

About the role

In this role as Projects Officer (Planning), you will work on the delivery of land use planning projects to support the NRRC organisational objectives. This role provides support and direction on projects to deliver on the strategic planning, infrastructure, economic and growth objectives of the Northern Rivers.

In this valuable and varied role, you will:

  • Implement and support the delivery of land use planning work programs in accordance with the NRRC’s objectives.
  • Review and advise on planning proposals and infrastructure projects in the Northern Rivers to enable the issue of streamlined planning approvals.
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate key issues, recommend innovative options, solutions, practices and processes to enable timely responses to customer enquiries.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems and ongoing improvements to increase team efficiency and effectiveness and enhance customer experience.
  • Assist in the development of strategic planning policy and implementation to facilitate effective fast track planning processes in the Northern Rivers.

About you

You are proactive, results driven team player, with strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective internal/external stakeholder relationships. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment, with tight deadlines, limited resources and managing competing priorities.

Sound experience in undertaking all aspects of project work is essential – program design and research, planning, implementation, program delivery, review and evaluation.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience is essential.
