About the role

The Procurement Officer will provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders to plan, source and manage procurement arrangements in line with NSW Government Policy to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. 

Act as the SAP Champion for Regional NSW, Hunter-New England Region in reviewing SAP Contracts to ensure accuracy and alignment with NSW Government Policy and financial and standardisation processes. 

Provide reports, analyses and advice to support procurement decision-making.  

Drive procurement compliance through promotion and education of the NSW Government Policy.

  • Experience in procurement and contracts, including relevant qualifications or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a procurement environment with an understanding of SAP (or similar) financial system. 
  • Demonstrated experience with an understanding of HP TRIM (or similar) records management system. 
  • Detailed understanding and application of the principles of responsible financial management in procurement with and an understanding of, and commitment to, procurement rules in line with NSW Government guidelines, with special emphasis on probity. 
  • Proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with customers, staff and stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical skills to create effective procurement spend, compliance and savings reports, as well as written reports. 
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem solving. 
  • Efficient, effective planning and self-management in the setting of priorities to achieve set objectives with the resources available and within set time frames. Demonstrated ability to initiate, prioritise, and complete required tasks to meet strict deadlines.
