About the Role:
With a fast-growing focus on digital across our business and the primary industries sector, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is seeking a customer-centred project professional to join a small team focused on transforming DPI services through digital. You will be known for your relentless pursuit of delivering quality services to meet customer needs, and your commitment to driving culture and accelerating outcomes through new ways of working.
As Project Officer, Digital, you will undertake a variety of activities to support delivery of digital strategy, transformation and culture across DPI.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Transformation, you will work in cross-functional teams across DPI, applying human-centred and agile principles to deliver critical digital transformation projects for DPI and NSW primary industries. You will work within a team to undertake activities such as user centred research and discovery to understand users’ pain points, needs and behaviours; synthesis of insights to define specific problems and ideation, testing and delivery of customer-centred solutions.
A people person with exceptional communication skills, you’ll actively collaborate across DPI to embed new ways of working and foster customer-centred creative thinking to accelerate and deliver digital transformation.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you’ll need to have demonstrated experience in high quality project delivery and/or coordination, including planning, stakeholder management and risk mitigation. Experience in Human Centred Design (HCD), Service Design (SD) and/or agile methodologies is desirable but not essential. You will, however, need to be able to demonstrate customer-centricity, empathy and the ability to embrace new ways of working. You will be supported to further develop HCD/SD capabilities as required..
As a member of the DPI Digital Transformation team, you will need an appetite for collaboration and confidence in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be curious, creative and bold in the way you solve problems and deliver high quality outcomes, often within tight timeframes. You will have meticulous attention to detail and a talent for working both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
