About us

Regional Development and Programs ensure representation of regional NSW perspectives in decision making and play a crucial community-facing leadership role to support improved outcomes in economic development and community wellbeing for regional NSW.

The Office for Regional Youth provides a coordinated and strategic approach to respond to regional youth issues, ensuring young people’s voices are heard and influence positive change and prospects within NSW communities.

About the role

In the role of Project Officer, you will support, influence and coordinate the development and implementation of a range of project management activities and initiatives. You will work as part of an innovative and collaborative team in the Office for Regional Youth to achieve key program objectives and positive life changing outcomes for youth in regional NSW communities.

Working as a Project Officer, you will:

• Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparing and maintaining project documentation and ministerial correspondence, coordinating resources, and implementing and monitoring project plans to achieve key project outcomes.
• Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning.
• Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to support information exchange and successful project completion.
• Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.

About you

You are proactive, results driven and a team player, with the ability to drive an agenda, maintain effective stakeholder relationships, manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines in a challenging, fast-paced and highly rewarding government department.

You are passionate about youth issues and initiatives and motivated to increase opportunities and improve the lives of young people living and working in regional NSW communities.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience supporting the review, development, implementation and administration of projects and grants. 
• Demonstrated experience initiating and supporting partnership projects with a range of industry, government and community stakeholders.
• Knowledge of government programs, decision processes and probity requirements
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of programs related to youth initiatives.
