About the role

We are seeking a project engineering professional to join our Public Works Advisory (PWA) branch within the newly created Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW).

In the role of Project Engineer (Process), you will be instrumental in contributing to the provision of design and operation of the water and sewage treatment process service lines and associated infrastructure projects within PWA. 

The role also provides engineering expertise, which can respond to client needs, whilst ensuring the consistent delivery of outcomes across PWA, including project quality, agreed timeframes and budget, in accordance with WHS policies and procedures, in order to deliver the client’s objectives and critical success factors.

About you

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Degree in chemical / process engineering (water and sewage treatment process design) discipline with eligibility for member status of a Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia
  • Extensive and proven knowledge and detailed design experience in providing process engineering design related to water/sewage/recycle water engineering projects
  • Sound understanding and application of best practice project management of all phases of design
  • Proven experience in detail process design (modelling with BIOWIN or similar package) of sewage treatment plants in Australia, particularly in regards to nutrient removal sewage treatment plants, encompassing primarily, secondary and tertiary treatment processes as well as sludge stabilisation and disposal/reuse systems etc
  • Experience and knowledge related to the use of membranes in water and wastewater treatment.  RO experience would be highly favoured
  • Ability to initiate, develop and foster client relationships
  • Good leadership skills
  • Embrace innovation with an ability to identify and implement process improvement
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations, which may include overnight stays.

These services are built on a solid foundation of more than 160 years of effective delivery and management of critical infrastructure projects for the State of NSW.
