About the role

 

We are currently on the lookout for a capable and experienced individual to join the Marine Operations unit within DPI Fisheries as a Marine Ranger. This is a critical frontline role that supports delivery of resource access and licencing, planning, education and research-support functions in Jervis Bay Marine Park. The role also provides input, advice and solutions for managers implementing administrative changes in terms of permit policy and procedure across the state and supports the delivery of marine estate reform priorities.

 

About You

 

To be considered for this role you must meet the following essential criteria:

 

  • Current coxswains certificate and demonstrated experience in towing, launching and operating vessels in coastal systems
  • ADAS Part 1 occupational diving or scientific diver qualifications
  • Current Class C driver licence

 

You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience relating to the marine environment, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, assessment and administration skills and a strong history of effectively interfacing with clients, stakeholders, service providers and marine park users. In addition, you must possess practical skills and be physically fit and able to perform field-based routine maintenance tasks on marine park equipment and assets.
