About the role

We are currently seeking a Manager Facilities Management to join the Public Works Advisory (PWA) within the Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW).

This role will manage strategic and operational projects and contracts to meet organisational objectives relating to Facilities Management, including hard and soft services.  The role will manage the planning and delivery of complex projects relating to Facilities Management, applying sound management principles to deliver organisational initiatives.

The role will also manage the improvement of Facilities Management, including developing project plans; identifying and coordinating resources; analysing contract performance; managing budgets, supplier and contract management across all related services and meeting reporting requirements.  It will continuously monitor and evaluate initiatives to improve Facilities Management, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact, quality measures and contract management and also manage internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver all key milestones and outcomes.

The role provides support to state emergency responses and from time to time after hours work may be required.


About you

You will have proven experience in facilities management or contract management whilst demonstrating the ability to prioritise work within tight operational and financial deadlines.

You will be required to build and maintain strong relationships both within and outside PWA, have capacity to acquire knowledge of clients and their portfolios and exhibit strong stakeholder management skills while contributing to the financial performance of the team.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Strategic Asset/Facilities Management, contract management, Procurement or a related field, or relevant industry experience
  • You must demonstrate considerable experience in asset management, facilities management or contract management services.  Experience in soft FM services (eg cleaning) is desirable.
  • You will be required to build and maintain strong relationships both within and outside PWA, have capacity to acquire knowledge of clients and their portfolios and exhibit strong stakeholder management skills while contributing to the technical and financial performance of the team.
  • High level communication, negotiation, reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to work in complex and demanding environments.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to drive to and work in remote locations which may include overnight stays.
  • Employment screening checks, security or other clearances.
