Manager Audit

• A fixed term role with an initial contract until 30 June 2026 with potential for the role to become ongoing at a later point. 
• Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations.  Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour.

The Department of Regional NSW Legal and Governance team are looking for a Manager Audit to manage and deliver the Regional NSW Internal Audit programme by providing critical advice and assurance across the business to manage the effectiveness of control environments.

• Conducting internal audits within the required timeframes
• Meeting professional and quality standards
• Leading and managing a team to conduct and complete audit’s as per the Plan
• Providing independent audit and assurance as to the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes.
• Leading and facilitating requests and engagements undertaken by The Audit Office
• Providing expert advice and information to inform relevant stakeholders to enable informed decision making on critical issues arising from audits
• Being a trusted business advisor to Executive Management
• Championing the ongoing continuous improvement of risk and control management

What do you need to be successful?

The role of Manager Audit is one you can really sink your teeth into. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Proven experience in a similar audit role as well as an understanding of working in the Public Sector Environment
• Knowledge of Risk Management would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Importantly, you will have a strong ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as analyse, review, and update complex information and data
• To be adept at working in an environment of competing operational priorities, diverse business processes and dispersed locations.
