The Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI) is a world renowned, premier biosecurity facility that enhances food and fibre production and helps protect the environment. In your new role as Maintenance Manager-EMAI you will:

  • Manage the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute (EMAI) facilities management function including initiation of systems maintenance programs, preparing and implementing site maintenance and building refurbishment programs, including grounds maintenance.
  • Leads a group of professional maintenance personnel (predominantly contractors) to effectively maintain the EMAI Facility to the required levels for ongoing external accreditation by implementing and managing facility management operating systems to ensure continued reliable operation.

What we are looking for:

Our preferred candidate will be capable of communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior Departmental management, research management, contractors and maintenance staff and responding to any requests in a timely fashion.

In addition, the successful candidate will have:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation.
  • Understanding of the needs of research.
  • The position holder requires a Supervisor Certificate in electrical, air conditioning /refrigeration or equivalent with post trade certificates being desirable
  • Experience in PC3 laboratory construction, operation and maintenance management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Government/Departmental requirements with respect to Total Asset Management Policy and relevant council, building codes and Australian Standards, AQIS, NATA, and ISO.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Government Procurement Systems and experience in tendering, development and management of Service Contract Agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of strategic or systematic building management systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computerised building management systems relevant to operation of PC3 laboratories.
