About The Team

The Office of Regional Economic Development (ORED) leads business attraction, promotion and strategy across regional NSW. We are recognised as the only fully dedicated regional Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in Australia and a leader in the field. We provide a range of tailor-made facilitation and information services to investors that are looking to establish or expand in regional NSW to drive economic development and create sustainable jobs.

About the role

The Investment Manager – Agrifood will support the development and management of multiple projects and initiatives, act as a key point of contact for investment attraction enquiries, support collaboration initiatives between industry and government, and deliver a range of investor services across priority sectors to deliver intended investment and job creation outcomes to meet the objectives of the 20-Year Economic Vision for Regional NSW Refresh.

Key responsibilities for the Investment Manager - Agrifood role include, but not limited to:

  • Identify, develop and manage projects to attract inward investment, increase economic growth, grow employment, infrastructure, investment and exports for regional NSW
  • Plan and implement strategies and initiatives to strengthen our economic relationships and promote  inward investment
  • Deliver investment lead generation and research to build a pipeline of potential investment, including actionable market intelligence and investment attraction
  • Provide a high level of service, advice and support to potential investors as part of a team  approach

Develop and manage working relationships and networks with key State and Federal Government agencies, Local Government, businesses and other stakeholders

This role reports to the Senior Investment Manager – Agrifood.

 

About You

You will be a highly motivated professional with proven investment attraction or business development experience working in or with clients in the food and beverage sector. You will have a proven ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships professionally and confidently and can demonstrate the use of project management techniques. You will also be a team player who has a passion and in-depth understanding of the industry issues facing Regional NSW.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in Agrifood business development or investment attraction and/or delivery and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Sound understanding of the business development and investment process, financial reporting and key factors driving regional economic growth.

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with relevant private sector experience.
  • Proven investment attraction or business development experience working in or with clients in the Agrifood sector.
  • Evidence of the COVID-19 vaccination must be provided upon commencement of employment. This is a condition of engagement should you be successfully appointed to a position within the Department of Regional NSW (which includes Local Land Services and the Soil Conservation Service).
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
