About us

Regional Programs delivers a range of initiatives to promote economic growth, recovery and enhance community wellbeing across regional NSW.

Grant Management, Evaluation and Reporting oversees all grant payments, project monitoring, evaluation and corporate reporting for the programs delivered by the broader Regional Programs team. Sophisticated systems in contracting, compliance, evaluation and risk management ensure projects and programs are delivered efficiently to benefit regional communities. Since 2019, the team has delivered more than 900 projects across regional NSW.

About the role

In the role of Grants Advisor, you will facilitate and coordinate the grants contracting and progress payment process. You will work with the team in the development and implementation of policies, strategies and standards for management, governance, and administration to enable effective evaluation and assessment of grants to positively impact Regional NSW development.

Working as the new Grants Advisor, you will:

  • Provide a customer facing advisory service, providing information and guidance to grant recipients, contributing to the efficient and compliant management of regional NSW-focused grants.
  • Provide information or report on grant-funded projects s; providing recommendations and advice with regard to grant project performance.
  • Co-ordinate and contribute to grant policies, projects and activities that support the economic development of businesses and industries in NSW.
  • Implement, assess and review processes and contribute to the continual improvement and efficiencies of systems that support a transparent, effective and efficient grants process.
  • Draft Departmental correspondence, Ministerial briefing notes, to ensure the provision of quality and timely information.

About you

This might be the role for you if you have:

  • Grants management or relevant professional experience (essential)
  • Knowledge of SmartyGrants or similar grant management systems (desirable)
  • Sound understanding or ability to quickly learn government processes and legislation (highly regarded)
  • Experience in records management systems
  • Exceptional financial and administration skills and ability to manage complex data and financial information effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, high volumes of work and tight project timelines
  • Strong written/verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same standard that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months. The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.

All Department of Regional NSW employees are required:
