About Local Land Services:

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster.  It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally-based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and the Soil Conservation Service.

The Murray region spans more than 40,000 square kilometres across a range of environments, from the steep alpine slopes in the east to the vast native grasslands and riverine floodplains in the west. Nationally significant areas include Kosciuszko National Park, the Murray River, and the Central Murray red gum forests that are recognised as important wetlands under the Ramsar Convention. The Murray Catchment has always been an important landscape supporting a large Aboriginal population. There are many important cultural locations throughout the catchment that are of state, national and international significance, and these landscapes continue to support our communities throughout the region.

About the Role:

As the General Manager for the Murray region, you will lead and provide direction to a number of teams working across a variety of functional areas and locations. The teams you will be guiding the operations and resources for provide services within the fields of biosecurity, natural resource management, primary production advice and emergency management. You will also be responsible for your region’s response to government initiatives in response to emergencies.

Reporting through to the Executive Director Regional Operations, this role will manage a range of complex relationships and inter-government working groups to leverage knowledge and understanding that can contribute to the effective management of the Murray LLS region.

About You:

We are looking for a proven leader with experience delivering effective projects and programs in a complex environment. You will have a detailed background in negotiation and influencing with all levels of business units both in a government and private setting along with the ability to manage complex, high functioning teams in a variety of disciplines.

You will value relationships and have the ability to establish strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as a proven ability to use collaboration to improve business outcomes.

You’ll demonstrate high levels of integrity and accountability, excellent communication skills, a successful track record of delivery and collaboration, and relevant experience managing and developing people and leading change. Your adaptive leadership style will enable you to build capability within your team by empowering individuals and driving cultural change, creating a diverse and caring work environment.

Your team will be located across the region so a strong ability to manage a diverse and disparately located team will be key to your success.

Most importantly you will have a true passion for working with landholders within Regional NSW and eagerness to be a part of Local Land Services and what we represent.
