Working in a competitive commercial environment, a Field Environmental Officer with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is responsible for the on-site delivery of environmental and earthworks projects for clients, with a focus on erosion control, soil and water management, site remediation and/or trail/track construction.

Your responsibilities:  

  • Assist in the implementation of environmental and civil construction projects, predominantly on the Murray River. Key projects will include conservation earthworks, fencing, willow removal, weed control and revegetation  
  • Ensure project quality and safety 
  • Professionally represent and promote the SCS  
  • Work as a colleague within teams and areas to resource projects with a whole of area team approach 

 What will you need to commence a career with us? 

  • Experience in the natural resource management, civil construction, or agricultural industries 
  • Experience and/or knowledge in machinery operations 
  • A safety focus and be able to deliver high-quality works 
  • Good communication skills and an ability to use computers and other mobile devices 
  • A current driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays) is also required. 
  • A current Construction Induction White Card or the willingness to obtain one 
  • A current marine (boat) licence or the willingness to obtain one
