Working in a commercially focused business, the position of Environmental Works Supervisor with the Soil Conservation Service manages the delivery of earthworks projects across the natural resource, agricultural, and civil construction sectors.  Project delivery is full circle from initial inspection, through to remediation recommendation, design, costing, and ultimately on ground implementation.

The position requires coordination and management of multiple plant operators and accompanying SCS bulldozers. Plant operations predominantly involve conservation earthworks for rural landholders throughout the North-Western and Gwydir areas of NSW, however, the diversity and scale of projects may require additional plant and subcontractors.

The role is supported by a Senior Environmental Officer, also based in Inverell.

About You:
You’ll need to be someone with demonstrated experience leading project teams, as well as a background in the operation of earthmoving equipment, in particular bulldozers & excavators.

Experience and/or knowledge in the survey and layout of conservation earthworks, scoping, and costing projects is also required as is strong computer literacy and great communication skills, and the ability to comfortably engage internally within your team and externally with your clients.

Our focus is high-quality project delivery and to be successful this needs to be your focus too. Being in a commercial environment, you’ll need to understand your clients’ needs as well as the constraints of a project – and be able to walk the line in between to successfully deliver outcomes suitable for all.

A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel away from your district and work in other areas (including overnight stays) is also required.

For more information on the role, you can download the role description.

Applying is Easy! If this type of role sounds ideal to you, simply submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining how your skills and experience match what we are looking for. We will then get back in touch after the closing date.

Closing Date:  Tuesday 26th October 2021 @ 11:55pm
