  • Salary ranging from $74,117 to $81,158pa + Super, Leave Loading, Flex Leave and a standard 35-hour working week

Working in a competitive commercial environment, the role of Environment Officer with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is responsible for the on-site delivery of environmental and earthworks projects for clients, with a focus on erosion control, soil and water management, site remediation and/or trail/track construction.

 

About the role

On any day, you will: 

  • Assist Senior Management with the on-site running of environmental construction projects and programs, determining contract specifications, advising on during and post construction activities as well as advising on maintenance requirements post completion
  • Primary projects surround River Rehabilitation works in this region, though you will work across a range of projects and programs within your career with SCS
  • Investigate, develop and scope solutions for natural resource management issues
  • Work closely with external stakeholders and clients to ensure the delivery of SCS projects, ensuring project quality and safety
  • Professionally represent and promote the SCS to help develop effective partnerships with internal staff and contractors
  • Participate in technical training and staff development activities
  • Work as a colleague with teams and areas to resource projects with a whole of area team approach.

 

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong working knowledge of the design and implementation of soil and water conservation projects, ideally you will also have proven experience working in a similar role or environment
  • Strong computer literacy and great communications skills
  • While safety needs to remain your number one priority, our focus is high-quality project delivery, and demonstrated experience in delivering efficiencies whilst maintaining standards will be highly regarded
  • A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays) is also required
