Who is the NSW Department of Primary Industries? Why work for us?
The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) is part of the Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW). It delivers a broad range of initiatives across the State including research and development to grow our agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors; and regulation and administration of biosecurity, food safety, animal welfare and hunting in NSW.
NSW DPI also has a range of responsibilities to prepare, respond to and assist in recovery from animal and plant biosecurity emergencies, natural disasters and other emergencies affecting the sector, as well as international market access support and export enhancement across a range of products and industries.
About the role:
With a fast-growing focus on digital across NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI), we are seeking a dynamic human-centred design and/or service design professional to join a small team focused on transforming DPI services through digital. You will be known for your relentless pursuit of delivering quality services to meet customer needs, and your commitment to accelerating outcomes through new ways of working.
As Digital Designer (Senior Project Officer), you will collaborate on initiatives to drive digital strategy, transformation and culture across DPI. You will work in multi-disciplinary teams on high impact human-centred and agile projects to deliver exceptional customer experiences, streamline operational efficiency and ensure NSW DPI is fit for the digital future.
About you:
You will be able to demonstrate strong experience in delivering digital projects using Human Centred Design, Service Design and/or agile methodologies. This should include research and synthesis of user needs, pains, and insights; creating experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints; and/or designing concepts and prototypes to optimise user experience. You may have experience in planning, designing, facilitating, and synthesizing workshops including diverse groups to co-design solutions that focus on both customer and business outcomes.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Design, you will have the autonomy to identify and develop opportunities for transformation, partnering strategically to deliver ambitious outcomes for DPI and NSW primary industries. Your thought leadership and advice on best practice and opportunities for digital transformation will be most welcomed.
As a member of the Digital Transformation team, you will need an appetite for collaboration and confidence and skill in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. You will be curious, creative, and bold in the way you expose and solve problems and identify opportunities for business transformation. You will have meticulous attention to detail and a talent for working autonomously, as part of a team and collaboratively across DPI.
