Strategy, Corporate and Performance (SCP) division are currently seeking an experienced Data Governance Manager to join the Intelligence, Data and Evidence team!

This exciting Greenfield project will suit someone who is up for a challenge and ready to be apart of something new. Location: Office across all NSW Regions
FLEXIBLE WORK HOURS!!! (Great for those who have family)
Salary: $131,094 to $151,609pa + super pa plus super and annual leave loading
Temporary full-time opportunity available for 3 years, flexible working options available - the choice is yours!

The Opportunity:

The Department of Regional NSW is seeking a motivated individual to provide leadership on data policy and management.

In this role, you will:
• Strategic direction to establish best innovative practices to improve delivery of data and data products
• Guidance and knowledge on data governance and data methods across different Groups within the Department of Regional NSW
• Strategic direction to establish best innovative practices to improve delivery of data and data products, and
• Support to ensure tools and methods are implemented according to regulated standards.

Key Accountabilities:
• Lead and manage the application of regulatory frameworks and apply expert data management knowledge, to effectively manage agency data over its lifecycle
• Share and leverage expertise to optimise data management practice across the agency, in a range of data management discipline knowledge areas (e.g. governance, data quality, data operations), providing expert advice to inform decision making
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement and lead/manage agency change by championing data management work programs across the agency
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and lead organisational networks to support business adopt better data management practice and engage in data driven decision making processes
• Prepare detailed and timely reports, presentations, speeches and submissions on data program streams
• Manage work processes to ensure a high standard of work output and efficient management ensuring operational requirements are met.

Skills Required:
• Strong experience in data governance
• Strong exposure / experience of analytical platforms governance
• Experience working in a complex organization within or reporting to an Enterprise data governance function or Chief Data Office
• Experience with data governance, data quality and metadata management tools
• Business Knowledge demonstrated by interpreting internal and external business challenges to recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services
• Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder relationship management
• Proven experience in creative problem solving and evidence collection and be able to work independently within a geographical dispersed team, that vales flexible work practices.
• Strong understanding of data policy, management, analytics and governance
• Excellent analytical skills within a legislative environment
• Ability to foster strong working relationships in a cross-government work environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
