Part of the Department of Regional NSW, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) Biosecurity & Food Safety division is seeking a Communications Officer to join their team. Responsible for effective management and risk minimisation of biosecurity threats to NSW as well as the through-chain regulation of food safety, NSW DPI Biosecurity & Food Safety delivers a risk-based approach to policy and compliance and provides regional engagement and coordination in response to emergency incidents impacting primary industries and the food sector.
About the role:
As a Communications Officer you will support the planning, development and implementation of strategic communications, including organisational and change communications, and assisting with internal and external communications for Government initiatives and programs.

You’ll need to be at home working in a fast-paced environment, be an exceptional communicator and be comfortable dealing with change at short notice.
You’ll enjoy variety, be able to juggle multiple competing priorities and have the confidence to work independently when required as well as part of a collaborative & supportive team.
Experience in a similar position would be ideal, however what’s more important is your passion, enthusiasm, attitude and ability.
