About our team at Local Land Services

Local Land Services is an Executive Agency in the Department of Regional NSW cluster.  The Strategy & Engagement team supports the LLS State Board, Senior Executive and Regional Operations through the provision of expert advice and coordination of strategy, performance, risk and assurance, organisational development and communications and marketing.  We are a small, geographically distributed team working together to support the delivery of the Local Land Services State Strategic Plan and the NSW State Outcome of  Sustainable and Productive Landuse



About the role:

The Business Partner Performance Risk and Assurance role is as much about attitude as aptitude.  The successful candidate is expected to wear many hats including:


  • Chief Audit Executive for Local Land Services
  • Delegated Chief Risk Officer
  • trusted advisor to the CEO Leadership team and Finance, Risk and Assurance Committee of the LLS Board,
  • collaborative partner in the identification and management of strategic risks
  • effective engager of regional stakeholders, including local boards and regional general managers, in internal and external audits and program evaluations
  • champion of quality frameworks to ensure the consistent and rigorous application of internal audit methodology and standards by team members in a diverse work environment with competing priorities
  • drive performance measures across the business and reporting programs through the wider DRNSW cluster
  • a model of exemplary behaviour to the immediate and broader LLS team.

About You

You are an accountable, adaptable and resourceful problem solver adept in working in a complex matrix operating environment where no two days are the same.


You strive for continuous improvement and lead by example, with a strong focus on collaboration, efficient business systems and cohesive working relationships with your key stakeholders. You can juggle competing priorities and are committed to the LLS vision of ‘vibrant communities in healthy landscapes’.


Within a day your role will be as wide and as varied as your approach. Being responsible for the oversight of the core requirements of Treasury Policy TPP20-08 and promoting and working with staff to engage and deliver outcomes based on Treasury Policy TPP18-09 you will be able to guide and mentor your team to provide outstanding outcomes to the business.
