  • Ongoing full time position with Hybrid & flexible work practices

  • Annual salary starting from $116,211pa + 10.5% Superannuation and leave entitlements
  • Clerk Grade 9/10

 

About our team

The Department of Regional NSW Regional Development and Programs branch are the NSW Government’s eyes and ears on the ground for regional economic development and infrastructure delivery, providing multi-agency coordination, program and grant funding, community planning and coordination, and emergency response delivery.  

The Opportunity

Business Development Managers work with businesses, government agencies and other stakeholders to support the delivery of economic development, enabling infrastructure, new investment, business support, and job creation initiatives across the Riverina.

Among other things you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, developing and managing projects that can utilise NSW Government programs to attract and retain businesses, increase economic growth, grow employment, and increase infrastructure investment for regional NSW
  • Providing timely, relevant and actionable market intelligence and advice on industry trends and major developments that have the capacity to provide new opportunities or mitigate threats to regional businesses and industries
  • In consultation with the Deputy Director, identifying strategies and develop plans that are directly aimed at meeting the Government’s commitments to ensure the growth of priority industries and infrastructure development in regional New South Wales
  • Developing and managing working relationships and networks with key State and Federal Government agencies, Local Government and businesses and other stakeholders for the effective leveraging of programs that encourage business growth
  • Preparing timely, accurate, relevant and high-quality briefings, submissions, reports, and correspondence when requested

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A sound understanding of the economic development and investment process, financial reports and key factors driving regional economic growth.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing business cases.
  • Ability to allocate and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • A sound knowledge of the  Riverina region.
  • Strong communication and relationship/stakeholder management skills.
  • A passion for Regional NSW and improving the economic and social wellbeing of the people living and working in the Riverina.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or economics and/or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Riverina region
