About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-focused and motivated professional to join our Regional Development team within the newly created Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW).

 

The Business Development Manager works with businesses, government agencies and other stakeholders to deliver NSW Government programs and services promoting economic development in Regional NSW.

 

This role will be responsible for identifying, delivering and managing projects that can utilise NSW Government programs to attract and retain businesses, increase economic growth, grow employment, infrastructure, investment and exports for NSW.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing a portfolio of clients and projects which will deliver business outcomes
  • Developing and managing working relationships and networks with key State and Federal Government agencies
  • Planning activities and co-ordinating projects
  • Initiating innovative ideas in a rapidly changing industry and economic environment
  • Contributing towards of market intelligence and database information to support improved outcomes

 

You will utilise NSW Government facilitation services and programs to provide an effective integrated team approach to the successful development and implementation of regional strategies and initiatives.

 

This role reports to the Deputy Director Regional Development.

 

About You:

You have a sound understanding of the business development and investment process, financial reports and key factors driving regional economic growth. You are effective at allocating resources and prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

 

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate experience in managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and reviewing detailed business cases
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with a broad range of conflicting and competing priorities in a high workload and dynamic political environment
  • Initiate and maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders with a customer service focus

 

Essential requirements

  • Have tertiary qualifications in business or economics or equivalent, relevant professional experience
  • Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence
