Riverina Local Land Services are looking for two Biosecurity Support Officers to assist with the delivery of animal biosecurity and welfare, plant biosecurity, invasive species, and emergency response operational frontline, field service, and regulatory activities across the region.
Currently, two positions are available (one based in Wagga and one in Hay) and these roles have three main focuses:
If successful, the role includes a large amount of training, and as such you will need to be willing and prepared to learn.
These roles carry a lot of responsibility and the successful candidate will need to be honest, reliable, and trustworthy - someone who can build strong professional relationships with landholders, stakeholders, and businesses, and who can provide sound advice and apply appropriate regulations as they relate to pest animals, plant health and disease control.
You will need to be able to follow procedures and processes (especially as you’ll be handling dangerous substances and pesticides), and be able to balance your work in an environment that is technically complex and often unpredictable and where emergency situations may take priority over planned activities.
About You:
This is a role for someone who loves being in the field and working with people and animals, and to be successful you’ll need to have a current NSW Class C Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel (including overnight stays) as required.
