About the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI):
The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources.

About the Role:
Working across the Surveillance, Response, Queensland Border and Livestock Dip Management teams, this role will see you contribute works that will assist in minimising the impacts of biosecurity threats to NSW’s Agricultural industries and the environment. You will regularly perform investigations of possible breaches, inspections, treatments and enforcement actions surrounding livestock.

Your role will be to
:

  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders and customers, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with operational policies and procedures
  • Investigate alleged breaches of legislation and take appropriate enforcement action as required including issues warnings letters and infringement notices as well as representing DPI in court proceedings if necessary
  • Undertake administrative processes and records in a timely manner
  • Supervise staff and contractors in the field

About You:
To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Experience within a regulatory environment, learning, maintaining and applying the relevant legislation within a similar or relevant role
  • A current Driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various sites as required
  • A current AQF4 Chemical Management Certificate would be highly beneficial or ability to obtain
  • A willingness and desire to participate in continued activities and training surrounding Emergency Management
  • The ability to perform duties in accordance with the required workplace health and safety policies and procedures
