The Department of Regional NSW’s (DRNSW) recruitment team are looking to establish a strategic recruitment position which focuses on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recruitment connections, pipelines and talent pools.

What makes this role so great?
The Department of Regional NSW is incredibly diverse (watch this video to see just how diverse we are) and covers the state of NSW. As our Identified Recruitment Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Building Aboriginal targeted talent pools across all grades and classifications
  • Proactively building relationships with outside organisations to promote and assist with candidate sourcing
  • Networking with all areas of the business to promote and place talent pool candidates
  • Developing reports and data to share information and key insights on candidates and outcomes
  • Working closely with the wider recruitment team to place candidates into general business as usual (BAU) roles
  • Working with all areas of the business to advertise and recruit for any identified positions they are wanting to fill
  • Looking at ways to continuously improve Aboriginal Identified recruitment within DRNSW, presenting suggestions and advice on new and innovative solutions

We won’t lie - this role can and will be busy as we are passionate about increasing the diversity and improving the inclusivity of our workforce, especially in relation to Aboriginal candidates. This is a critical role for us. You will have all areas of the business asking for your help and will be seen as a subject matter expert for all Aboriginal recruitment.

To be successful you will need to be able to partner and build strong relationships to attract, select and assess the best Aboriginal candidates for our diverse regional client base. It is also essential that you are highly motivated, able to work independently and take accountability for your own work.  

Government experience is not essential however previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, as is experience with developing recruitment strategies.
