Local Land Services actively seeks to build and support relationships with First Nations people, the traditional custodians of this land, and elders past, present, and emerging are respectfully acknowledged.

Over the past five (5) years the National Landcare Program Ramsar Project has involved indigenous people in the protection and enhancement of the Ramsar wetlands in the Kookdrook-Perricoota, Millewa, and Werai forests. (Check out this video on the project so far).

Murray Local Land Services is now looking for an Aboriginal Community Support Officer to join the team, continue with this important work, and enhance opportunities for Indigenous people to increase skills and capacity and to work on country within the NSW Central Murray region.

Want the basics?

  • Help develop & deliver on-ground Natural Resource Management projects
  • Strengthen relationships between Local Land Services and First Nations Peoples
  • Identify opportunities to engage First Nations peoples and businesses
  • Assist in monitoring and overseeing project-based Indigenous work crews
  • Assist with the ongoing enhancement of linkages between Indigenous groups and key land managers

You’ll also need to have a current NSW Driver Licence, and the capacity and willingness to travel throughout the region as required.
