About the role:

In your new role as a researcher with NSW DPI, you will undertake agronomic research in cereals, pulses, oilseeds and farming systems to increase the productivity and long term profitability of NSW cropping industries. You will work with project teams and technical staff to conduct research trials across a range of NSW cropping systems as such you will have excellent technical, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.


This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team undertaking innovative research to increase the productivity and long-term profitability of NSW cropping industries.


What you’ll do:

  • Identify & prioritise key research issues to ensure a targeted research program (including both field and controlled environment) is implemented
  • Lead cereal, pulse, oilseed and farming systems applied research to increase the productivity and long-term profitability of grains production
  • Lead & communicate the effective and timely delivery of research outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with project team members and technical staff
  • Present and publish scientific outcomes at conferences, industry workshops and in refereed journals.


To be successful within the role you will have a Degree in Agricultural Science or related discipline with research experience in crop science, agronomy or farming systems.
